The Workshop

Like most people who have very little spare time, I have a number of different hobbies. Well, some of them couldn’t really be considered hobbies; as I never have enough time or money to pursue them very often. But I’m interested in a number of different things; including Ham Radio (call sign KC4YGU), electronics, computers, HTML coding, photography, SCUBA, motorcycling, target shooting, reloading, reading, hiking, storm chasing, writing, gardening, paintball… the list goes on. I don’t always have the time to give to them that I’d like to, but I roll around to them every now and again. I’d like to be able to make a living at one of them; but then, that’s most folk’s dream, isn’t it? Anyway, some of those interests are dealt with in separate pages on this web site. (By the way, pet peeve: It’s SITE, not SIGHT. I hate seeing “web sight”.) The Firearms page details my interest in guns and shooting, or you can look at my work customizing firearms at the Hard Rock Candy site. The Photo Gallery includes some of my photography and videography; or go to Kat’s Den Studios to see the better photographs and my dabblings in web design. (NOTE: Still working on re-creating the Studios site. May be a while.) I also have some of my fiction available. I mostly enjoy writing “hard” science fiction, a la Larry Niven or Robert Heinlein. I also write some horror fiction, dealing mainly with werewolves and shapeshifters, and am working on a non-fiction handgun self-defense text. I have, however, removed a lot of my short stories as I have this delusional desire to publish.

  • Prologue-A shapeshifter story; prologue to a longer work that’s yet to be written. Will *definately* be heavily edited later; was scribbled out in a hurry.
  • Reflections on an EOD-7B-nonfiction; my thoughts on wearing a bomb suit.
  • Kat’s Chili-My super-secret bowel-busting chili recipie.
